Principal - Doris Chong

Doris is the founder and principal of the Meadow Ballet Centre.  She graduated in the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a Bachelor Degree in Fine Art (Ballet), then obtained her Master Degree in Arts Management from City, University of London in UK.

She worked for the Education and Outreach Unit of The Hong Kong Ballet Company for four years, where her roles included performing, teaching, organising, presenting, designing, planning and marketing dance performances and dance workshops. 

Arts and Dance is an important part of her life - She is a RAD (UK Royal Academy of Dance) Registered Teacher, and has been involved in Ballet and Dance Education since 1992; she was the 1st runner up in the second Hong Kong Salsa Competition; and appeared on the Malaysia TV3 Womens Program called Nona, which documented the benefits of teaching and learning Salsa in the 2007 program.  Also appeared on NTV7s Bella Show in May 2013.

In 2013, she set up a competition team for students who has shown excellent potential and tremendous passion in ballet to be sent for local and international ballet competitions. 

Her competition team has competed in several countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan this coming July. The prizes and scholarships achieved is numerous. For instance, in 2017, she choreographed a duet which achieved first place in SCDIBC. Some of her students were also offered scholarships of summer intensive courses held in Hong Kong and Taiwan. 

A particularly distinguished result is of a student from Vietnam. She has won several medals, scholarships and cash prizes up to RM18,000 and has even been invited to perform a child lead role in the Nutcracker with prestigious Universal Ballet Company in Seoul at age of 13. She is currently studying at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington DC where she was offered full tuition fee scholarship. Furthermore, she was chosen to perform with the Mariinsky Ballet Company in the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC. In 2018, she has won the Bronze Medal and the prestigious Fernando Bujones Living Memorial Award in the Youth International Ballet Competition in Florida (ADC IBC).
